Tug

This work, presented through photography, video, and installation, examines the evolving tension and attraction between Saudi men and women as a reflection of intergenerational social change. The 'rope' in this symbolic tug-of-war, composed of the traditional thobe, abaya, shemagh, and agal, represents the enduring cultural symbols passed down through generations. By visually articulating the push and pull of these iconic garments, the piece explores how contemporary gender dynamics navigate and redefine inherited societal norms. It offers a visual dialogue on how each generation grapples with, and ultimately reshapes, the complex interplay of tradition and modernity within Saudi society."
